Lawsuit New Line Cinema

New Zealand 2008
Info: Amongst other actors , Mark was involved in a lawsuits in May 2007 against New Line Cinema which was settled out of court in October 2008. It had first been said that those actors would get five percent of the merchandise revenue of the items with their faces portraied on. In the end, New Line cinema deducted fees and claimed that they had made a loss with those merchandising items and could therefore not pay anything to the actors. // The other actors were Noel Appleby, Jed Brophy, Ray Henwood, Bruce Hopkins, William Johnson, Nathaniel Lees, Sarah McLeod, Ian Mune, Paul Norell, Craig Parker, Robert Pollock, Martyn Sanderson, Peter Tait and Stephan Ure. // Bruce Hopkins wrote to
ToRn in October 2008: "As part of the settlement, details cannot be discussed. I will however put my neck on the line and say that the final settlement amounts are more in keeping with what was in the petty cash drawer at head office when the decision to settle was made! A couple of actors may be able to have a decent holiday this year, while most will simply be able to buy some new board shorts, a couple of bottles of nice wine and maybe get a haircut in anticipation of their next role in a record breaking global blockbuster!"
