Fellowship Festival 2004

United Kingdom 2004

Date: 28.-30.08.2004

Location: Alexandra Palace, London, UK

Info: Together with Craig Parker Mark not only was a 'normal' guest but also MC for this event. // He also hosted the Charity Auction and played Frodo in a half hour long Lord of the Rings radioplay he wrote and which got performed three times over the three days). To quote Mark's introduction to this radio play: "In the past it's been said that perhaps we've been a little shallow, and it's been said that we need to up our intellectual game. Well they can no longer claim this about us because we have a scholastic and intellectual first. We've uncovered in the depths and bowels of Oxford University a rare manuscript. You are privileged to be the first to hear it. Yes we believe it's been written by the great professor himself ... we believe? And it's called 'The Lord of the Rings 4: The Return of the Towering Fellowship'" (Craig 'revealed' that the manuscript was "actually discovered behind the cistern of a basement disused toilet In Oxford'). You can find more about this radioplay in Ian Smith's report which is linked underneath. // There also was a panel with Craig Parker on each of the three days (which in the end only became the panel of "The Parkers"). // Other guests of this event (which was organized by Access All Areas Events) were Karl Urban, Berhard Hill, Sarah McLeod, John Noble, Bruce Hopkins, Lawrence Makoare, Jorn and Jarl Benzon, Sandro Kopp, Jed Brophy, Cameron Rhodes, Alan Lee, John Howe and Gino Acevedo from WETA. // In between panels short cartoon portraits of the guests were shown, as well as short animations called 'The Great Adventures of Craig and Mark' which were drawn by Criz. You can see the cartoons here
